Generation X, Melbourne-born Robertson thought his calling was as an Industrial Designer - after a decade as an Automotive Design Engineer, he discovered his passion for painting. Self taught since the millenium, he strives to capture atmosphere, tension and drama whilst incorporating a humorous yet contemplative narrative.
Realism has been explained as the paradox of simplicity - which therein lies its complexity. Disarmingly direct, the images are readily accessible in their striking realism with a twist in the tale. A sense of heightened perception engages the viewer into a world of quirky idiosyncracities.

Historically, pastoral scenes depict farm animals and namely cows - often used to create point of perspective to illustrate the vastness of the landscape. The immediacy - or sense of nearness - as they gaze back at us can un-nerve yet delight us all at once. Personally, a Heifer locking its'soft, brown eyes with mine, enchants me. What do you think?!
