Thierry B has the knack where he can cast his bright eyes over either an empty or cluttered space and re-design it entirely in a blink. At a time in the visual arts industry when galleries were closing in almost domino like succession, this master painter and stylist re-invented his business. Painting sales still were happening but not with the frequency he had once worked so hard to enjoy. The recession had hit town like a tidal wave - a tsunami of silent days sometimes strung together like a sad song.

Thierry started renting out his stockroom of paintings to high-end interior designers who were tired of dealing with the only other option available in town for quality work. With fixed, reasonable prices, those seeking colour and style could afford to have it without the mire of long-term contracts. Whether to dress a property for sale or simply add another dimension to a feature wall in a home or office boardroom, the word spread around town.

With an eclectic mix of contemporary abstract artists, Thierry's stable of stock engaged even the most jaded collector. The paintings all share a unifying element - joy. Clients soon were back to have him visit their spaces to cast his expert eye and weave some of his magic. His service extends well beyond that of a traditional gallery dealer - who all too often loses interest in creating a repeat client after the final payment has been made ( I know this from my decade-long first-hand experience in such spaces). Insisting on employing one trustworthy carrier, he delivers, custom frames and instals the paintings personally. It is this gallant French style of service which reveal the years he once spent as Maitre D' at many of Melbourne's finest restaurants.

A steady stream of commissions soon followed by happy customers who loved his attitude to style where he will happily tweak a living room layout, by reconfuring sofa, re-hanging a mirror or offering to change up the space to better effect. Thierry is a prolific painter, with over a dozen clearly different painting styles - a talent not possessed by many. Customers revel in the freedom afforded to them to choose their preferred colour palette in dimensions customised at no extra charge. In fact, a commissioned work will often be a cost less than its companion piece selling off the gallery wall. The aim is to find the perfect piece to compliment the space, taste and budget.
For further information on the paintings or to view, our gallery hours are Monday - Saturday 11am - 5pm, 531A High St, Prahran, 3181 or by appointment on +613 9525 0071.
